The Universal Golf Ranking
A ranking built on a strokes gained, head to head comparison of players who competed under the same conditions.
What it is
The Universal Golf Ranking, usually shortened to TUGR, ranks golfers using a strokes gained, head to head model. Rather than comparing raw scores across different courses and days, it compares players against the others who played the same event, on the same course, in the same conditions.
Who it covers
Junior golfers alongside players at higher levels of the game, drawn from the tournaments in its database.
How a junior becomes ranked
By playing events that TUGR includes. Because the model works from head to head comparisons within an event, a player's position reflects who they actually outplayed rather than a score adjusted in isolation.
What it adds
Alongside a ranking position, TUGR publishes analytics on a player's results, including how their ranking has moved over time. Its current coverage and methodology are documented on its own site.
This is an independent organisation that operates separately from the tour. Whether a given event on our schedule is counted by this system is determined by that organisation, not by us. For rankings, eligibility, and current rules, go to the source.
