How It Works
A step-by-step guide to getting started with the U.S. Junior Golf Tour, from registration through competition and tracking your performance.
Getting Started
The first step is to create a parent or guardian account on the tour website. You will use this account to manage player profiles, register for tournaments, view scores, and track your player's season performance. If you already have an account, you can log in directly.
Once your account is created, you can add one or more players to your account. Each player needs a name, date of birth, and gender to determine their competitive division.
Finding and Registering for Tournaments
Tournament schedules are published in the tournaments section of the website. Each tournament listing shows the date, location, course, format, and entry fee. You can filter tournaments by date, location, or division to find events that match your player's schedule and competitive level.
To register your player for a tournament, select the tournament, choose your player, confirm the entry fee, and complete payment through our secure Stripe checkout. You will receive a confirmation email with registration details and tee time information closer to the event date.
Registration is open until the tournament's registration deadline. Check each tournament page for the specific deadline, as it may vary by event.
On Tournament Day
Your player will be assigned a tee time and grouped with other competitors in their division. Scorekeepers will be on the course to record holes completed and scores. After all groups finish play, raw scores are entered into the scoring system.
Scores are verified by tournament administrators and published on the live leaderboard once the round is complete. You can view scores through the player profile or on the tournament leaderboard page.
Understanding Divisions
Players compete in divisions based on age and gender. Divisions ensure that competitors play against their peers and have a fair opportunity to earn points and climb the season standings. The current list of active divisions and their age ranges is available on the divisions page.
Tracking Performance
After each tournament, your player's profile is updated with new statistics and performance data. You can view scores, scoring trends, and head-to-head results at any time through the player profile page.
The season standings page ranks all players in each division by total points earned. Points are awarded based on finish position at each tournament. You can view your player's ranking and see how they compare to other competitors in their division throughout the season.
Payment and Fees
Entry fees are set by the tour operator for each tournament and are displayed at the time of registration. Payment is processed securely through Stripe. Some tournaments may be free to enter. A membership fee may also apply, depending on the tour operator's pricing structure. For current pricing information, visit the membership page.
Results and Rankings
All tournament results are published publicly on the tour website within hours of the event completion. Results include final scores, finish positions, and rankings by division. Players can view their detailed performance metrics on their public profile page under/players.
Season standings are updated in real time and reflect the current ranking of all active players in each division based on cumulative points earned.
Financial Assistance
The U.S. Junior Golf Tour offers financial assistance to help make tournaments accessible to all young golfers. If entry fees are a barrier to participation, families can apply for a fee reduction or waiver. Tour staff review applications and notify applicants of approval decisions. Financial assistance applications are handled separately from tournament registration. Learn more on the financial assistance page.
